Japanese knotweed

Can anyone inspect for Japanese knotweed, and it's removal? I hear it's in the area I'm looking to purchase a flat in

"Japanese knotweed can be removed in Scotland using several methods, including professional herbicide treatments, stem injection, and excavation. Herbicide treatment is often the most cost-effective, while stem injection is more targeted. Excavation, or "dig and dump," is faster but more expensive and requires strict adherence to waste management regulations for infested soil.

There are few company wich doing that professional and I would highly recommend one based in fife."
