Japanese knotweed

Can anyone inspect for Japanese knotweed, and it's removal? I hear it's in the area I'm looking to purchase a flat in

"To save you great expense get the seller to provide you with a certificate to say they have had the grounds /garden inspected if it’s clear it will say so if not my advise would be to get the seller to have it removed.
It can and often does run in to the many hundreds of pounds to deal with and you are legally required to get rid of it"

"Japanese knotweed can be removed in Scotland using several methods, including professional herbicide treatments, stem injection, and excavation. Herbicide treatment is often the most cost-effective, while stem injection is more targeted. Excavation, or "dig and dump," is faster but more expensive and requires strict adherence to waste management regulations for infested soil.

There are few company wich doing that professional and I would highly recommend one based in fife."

"Hi

Where abouts are you based?

Knotweed must be disposed of professionally, normal waste centres won’t touch it. One stem dropped can cause havoc.
It is often mistaken for tangle weeds and certain ivy species. Happy to survey the garden at your potential new home.

Cheers
Mike"
