"There’s no right measure 📏.Divide the space between them as long looks proportional."

"Spacing soffit lights is a popular way to enhance the kerb appeal. While there aren't rigid Building Regulations for the exact distance between them, a good starting point is to divide the vertical distance the soffit height by 2 - that is your spacing. You can adjust this to suit your lighting effects. Make sure you avoid the joists (have a look into your loft first) before position the lights. And leave about 5oo mm from corners. I would choose IP65 fittings with wattage about 5W."

"Design-based rule of thumb:
• A common design method is to space lights roughly half your soffit height apart. So if your soffit is ~8 ft above the ground, lights about 4 ft apart is a good baseline.

Things That Change the Spacing

The exact spacing you choose depends on a few factors:
• Height of the soffit
• Beam angle and brightness of the fixtures
• Whether you want ambient wash or accent lighting
• Architectural features like windows or doors where spacing might be tighter/adjusted"

"we would normally try to avoid the down hang of the roof trusses, so if you go into the loft and measure the trusses that is what would be the ideal spacing. take care in the corners where access can be restricted"

"You would have to check the access to the soffit and the distance between the roof timbers. They are normally awkward to reach so care is required in loft space . There is no set measurement it’s a question of balence and visual appearance for the effect you require"

"Is just depending how many lights to you like to install.Masure the lent of the soffit and devide bu how many lights you want .Example the soft fit is 6 meter long and you want 8 lights to be install so you devide 6000÷9=660 cm between the lights."

"The space for outdoor soffit lighting should be roughlt 6- 8 feets depending on the size of soffit"

"Most common spacing should be 120-150cm between the lights"

"There isn’t a single “rule”, but most installers space soffit lights at 600–1000 mm (60–100 cm) apart.

As a general guide:

600–700 mm gives a brighter, more even wash of light

800–1000 mm gives a softer, more subtle effect

The final spacing depends on:

The beam angle and brightness of the fittings

The height of the soffit

Whether the aim is decorative lighting or functional security lighting

A good installer will usually mark them out first so you can visualise the spacing before any holes are cut."

"Hi, the best way to do is to go for aesthetics rather than a set space, we find between windows or in line with roof pitches give the best wow factor"
