How much to fit a light in the garage?

No power out there at the moment. What would an electrician charge to run it in and add a light and a couple of sockets?

"Morning.

This would depend on quite a few factors:
Is there already a light and it's just a replacement? In which case call out fee + price of light would cover it maybe £75.
If no light, is there power in the garage already? Or a consumer unit? Assuming space in the unit and depending on the length of the run, perhaps £200 based on 3 hrs labour + materials"

"Hi .

This would all depend on how far the property’s fuseboard is to the location of the garage ? Price may vary drastically if it’s detached or away from the main property - let’s assume it’s attached to main property with the fuseboard being directly next to the garage - in this instance the price would be around £600 to install 2x sockets 1x light and switch. More information would be required to give a more accurate estimate .
Thankyou

"Where is the consumer unit located?
Lengths of run/route to garage ?
Number of points being served in garage ?
These are all factors of the price."

"Hi
The cost will depend on a few key factors:
Distance from the consumer unit (existing fuseboard) to the garage.
The possible cable route - buried underground, or clipped on wall, etc.
Is there a spare way in the existing conumer unit (to install the garage circuit on). If not, the current fuseboard will probably need replacing with a larger one (more ways).
If this info can be provided it will allow meaningful quotes.

Any quote will have to cover:
- parts required in any case: cable + small garage fuseboard incl. circuit breakers for sockets & light circuits, the sockets & light fitting.
- labour, of which the main part might be to install the cable between main property and garage
- testing and certificate for the new circuit

Thanks, Cristo"
