How to become a plasterer

I'm thinking about retraining as a plasterer. What qualifications or courses do you actually need to get started, and is it realistic to get work without a formal apprenticeship?

"Nvq level 2 soild plastering is the qualication it can be got in a training centre courses can take up to 2 years at 1/2 days a week in college or a fast track 3 month course
Having a nvq helps get work online or threw agencies they always want a nvq level 2 if you plan to be a domestic plasterer none of this is needed but its good to have your nvq and its worth doing"
