How soon can you hang pictures in a new build?

Why can't we put up anything in the new build we have moved into? How long do we have to wait as it looks barren without a few things on the wall. If we have to wait more than a month, is there any alternative that doesn't give the builders a way out of honouring the warranty if there is a different issue?

"New builds often need 6–12 months to fully dry and settle before fixing things to walls. Alternative: use temporary solutions like free-standing shelves or removable adhesive hooks, which don’t damage plaster or affect warranties.

"Why should you have to wait?
You should be able to put up fixtures and fittings without any issues with the builders warranty
Their warranty covers the actual building work, plumbing, electrics, movement, doors or windows not shutting, flooring lifting etc"

"Good morning ,

There should be no problem in hanging pictures etc in a new build . A top tip is to maybe buy a stud / electrical detector as sometimes it's not obvious where cables and pipes run inside the walls , also make sure you have the correct fittings , or plasterboard fixings etc ."

"There's no deadline for this; they simply don't want to do it because they have other jobs now. They'll probably do it someday if they find the time. It's better to hire someone to do it, because they certainly won't do it quickly."
