How often do I need a gardener?

For a large lawned garden with mature shrubs will a fortnightly visit from a gardener be enough to keep it looking neat during the growing season?

"It depends if you have a lot of other plants needing attention - eg bedding plants going into borders etc - and how neat you want it to be (eg if you want paths always to be free of any stray leaves)! But if not, then fortnightly could work. But if a high quality lawn is a key feature, then there will be periods when weekly mowing is recommended. Have a chat to gardeners you are thinking of hiring, and they should be able to give you good advice."

"Hi Adam it depends on how quick your garden grows
Some grow quicker than others
Also for example if needs done every fortnight
Then maybe the start of the season for a few times may be every 3 weeks
Then may be at the end of the season every 3weeks
Also depends on the size of the garden
Would need to see it
I hope I hav answered your question
Thanks marcus"

"I would say yes unless you are feeding your lawns.
Well fed lawns grow lush rapidly."

"Define 'large'. We have large gardens that benefit from weekly visits but others that do perfectly well on a fortnight visit. To be honest it does heavily depend on how the garden is planted up and not just about size. Too keep a lawn looking nice then I would suggest every two weeks at a minimum. If budget allows then go weekly but let your gardener know you are likely to go monthly during the winter period. Consider the extra cost to a gardener if you go little and often though as this cost will inevitably be passed on. Have a chat with your local gardener and be open about expectations of him and the work you are putting his/her way."

"during the summer months once fortnightly visits are advised. this can be scaled
down to once monthly during winter months."

"Once in three weeks to a month should be sufficient, depending on the amount of work you need to get done."

"Yes, a visit every 2 weeks is enough for the garden to look tidy."
