How long does paint last once opened?

I've got half a tin of dulux emulsion left over from about 18 months ago. Is it still usable, and how can I tell if it's gone off?

"I reccomend not to use that paint. 18 months is definitely too long for emulsion.
To avoid further pell of please recycle it in nearest recycling centers"

"It depends on where you keep it stored and if its well sealed, there is no specific time limit but if you open it and t smells it's not good"

"If you have secured the top correctly then should be ok for a while

If it smell funny then it's no use

Only thing I will say is if your using it for touch ups it will be no use now as the paint on the walls will be sun bleached so after 18 months it will be a different colour.

Get a new tin and do the full wall or walls"
