How long does it take to finish a dormer loft conversion?

I know the planning phase for a dormer conversion can take months, but once the builders start how long should it take before they're done?

Loft conversions can take between 2 to 3 months dependant on specification , site access , and logistics .
Also depends on your budget .
If you were to put a tin roof over the scaffolding , you could completely strip the roof and build the loft conversion saving a third of the time but that adds to the cost . You and I have to take until account the time of year . If you have bad weather , this could also increase completion times but loft conversions generally take between 2 to 3 months

A standard loft conversion can fall under PD (under certain guidelines) which can save you a reasonable amount of time as opposed to the planning permission route.

Once the work starts on site, you should have a shell ready which is also water tight within 4 weeks.

The internal works can take a further 4-6 weeks dependent on finish specifications.
