"Basic doorbells with just the chime are very durable and should last at least 10/20 years if installed properly"

    "Hi Jenny,

It’s like with every item, the more it’s used the quicker it’ll need replacing. I’ve actually just replaced my own doorbell at home and it’s been on the property since the 90’s so it’s had a good run. If you’re unsure that your doorbell is unsafe, get a local electrician to take a look for you."

"How long is a piece of string, depending on type and quality it can be twenty years plus if it’s a Friedland mains type with a decent bell push, but if it’s a cheap imported wireless or wired one, sometimes you will be lucky if it lasts 6 months especially if open to the elements"
