How do you fit a dry verge system to an existing roof

I’ve seen a few videos but not sure how straightforward it really is. Can you retrofit a dry verge or is it more of a full reroof job?

"You do not have to do a rear roof you can take the old cement out and fix a piece of timber onto the end of the batons and then when you fix your drivers on, you’ve actually got something strong to fix too"

"To fit a dry verge system to an existing roof, you’d normally:
1. Remove any old mortar from the gable verge.
2. Check the battens run out far enough past the gable to support the verge units – if not, you may need to extend them slightly.
3. Fix the eaves starter unit at the bottom of the verge.
4. Slot and clip the dry verge units over the edge of each tile, working your way up. They should interlock securely.
5. Secure the ridge end with an end cap or ridge closure for a neat finish.

It can be retrofitted to most roofs, but the ease depends on the roof’s condition. If the tiles, battens or underlay are in poor shape, extra work may be needed."
