How do I make a gallery wall?

Hi! So I’m considering making a gallery wall in my living room. What should I consider when making a gallery wall in terms of style and design and how can I make it work such that it doesn’t look outdated? Any advice for making a gallery wall ‘work’ this day in age? Any advice and tips in general would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

"Making a gallery wall is a great way to showcase your personal style and create a focal point in your living room. Here are some tips to consider when making a gallery wall that will look stylish and modern:

Choose a cohesive theme or color palette: Selecting a consistent theme or color palette for your gallery wall can help create a cohesive and visually appealing display. This could be anything from a collection of black and white photographs to a mix of colorful abstract paintings.

Mix up the sizes and shapes of your frames: A gallery wall that includes a mix of sizes and shapes of frames can create visual interest and prevent the display from looking too repetitive or boring.

Vary the art and objects: Don't limit yourself to just paintings or photographs. Consider including a variety of objects, such as mirrors, woven wall hangings, or decorative plates.

Consider the layout: Before hanging any art, lay out the frames and objects on the floor to experiment with different layouts. Try to create a balance of visual weight and consider using a mix of horizontal and vertical orientations.

Use hanging templates: To ensure that your gallery wall looks balanced and evenly spaced, use hanging templates or create your own by tracing each frame onto a large piece of paper and then hanging the paper on the wall to get a sense of how the display will look.

Avoid over-crowding: It's important to leave enough space between the frames and objects on your gallery wall to prevent it from looking cluttered or chaotic. A good rule of thumb is to leave at least 2-3 inches between each piece.

Keep it simple: While it's tempting to include every piece of art or photograph you own, it's best to keep your gallery wall simple and focused. Select a few key pieces that you really love and build the display around them.

By following these tips, you can create a gallery wall that looks modern and stylish, and that reflects your personal taste and aesthetic"

"Draw out the way you think you want them on the wall, biggest picture first and work around it, keep pictures that look alike away from each other maybe throw in some random picture or brightly coloured one.

When you are happy with the layout the start to put them up, l suggest you number them on the drawing"

"Hi well, a Gallery wall is classy in itself. Frame size is important depending on the number of pics you have, one big one with a smaller one around it looks cool.

Work with the shape of the frame and mix them up so it's not boring."
