How can I stop slugs eating my plants?

How can I stop slugs eating my plants without using slug pellets? Are there solutions that won’t kill them? Thanks.

"You can buy at garden centres a copper strip which you put around your pot and stops slugs getting into pot. If plants are in the garden you can buy a slug trap which you fill with beer and this attracts slug inside trap."

"Better to remove their place. If they are already in the pot, then change the pot and soil as well"

"Crushed eggshells/gravel/woodchip or mulch Molluscs don't like travelling over rough ground, so if they sense sharp edges, you can use this texture to deter them. Coffee grounds. Slugs don't like the bitter taste of coffee grounds. Sprinkle coffee grounds on the soil around your plants to deter them."

"A good idea would be to move the plants and probably have the plants in a pot surrounded by gravel. Slugs struggle to move on or around gravel; especially gravel or stones with sharp edges."
