Fuse board replacement cost

Our electrician said our old fuse board needs replacing. We've got a 3-bed semi, probably 12-15 circuits, so what should we expect to pay for a full consumer unit upgrade?

"You’d be looking at a minimum cost of £600, this would include a certificate.
There’s lots of factors to consider though, brand of fuseboard, do the tails need upgrading, access, just to name a few."

"You would be looking at a ball park price of between £600-£1000 - depending on what is required additionally including an EIC (Electrical Installation Certificate) carried out by a CPS engineer, all certified via Napit/NICEIC"

"why? if you are happy it is safe potentially you could keep it and spend less, possibly an EICR Required. Kind regards RTS"

"As a rough guide you would be looking to pay around £800 - £900 for this type of job to bring up to the current wiring regulations and safety requirements. We would also recommend completing a full electrical installation condition report beforehand to ensure the existing wiring/installation is in a suitable condition to accept the consumer unit upgrade."

"Personally I would be recommending an EICR to be carried out before hand. A fuseboard for that many circuits I would say between £700-£900"

"On what basis did your electrician say that the consumer unit needed replacing? Were tests carried out to verify that the circuits are complete and in serviceable condition?

Probably in the region of £700 - £1000 depending on location, other variables and your requirements (both now and in the future)."
