"Your roofing felt should hang over into the guttering you don't need to get on the roof just to the Gutter and look down the guttering or you can tell if there's daylight between the facia and Gutter"

"A good indicator would be water running down the wall behind the gutter or if you can gain access to loft space and if you can see the day light."

"If you can see water coming from behind Guttering down the front of your fascia boards"

"Hello
You would need to check under the guttering if the eaves is causing drafts it will need to be built up again normally just a bed or mortar and reslate or a repoint if it’s just missing in areas.

"Hi Elly, we will be happy to take a look for you. Usually there are signs of water ingress if the felt has deteriorated. Let us know if we can help further"

"hi, the only way is to remove verge tiles to have a look, water running behind the
fascia is not really a good indication that your verge felt is perished. 1f felt was used
previous to none rot breathable membranes so where exposed in gutter line will perish over years, but does not mean the felt running up verge sides is also perished. Remove tiles in random places is the only sure way."
