external door fitting cost

How much would it cost to replace an external door and frame? Is it cheaper to buy the door then hire a tradesman or find someone to supply and fit? Don't need expensive door. Thanks

"Hi there a rough price without looking at it would be average of £180.00 and I would have the tradesmen to measure up to make sure the door fits before you purchase
Hope this helps thanks gavin"

"It really depends on the type of door you're looking for!
Usually the ones that supply and fit are the so-called double glazing companies that will charge an arm and a leg.
A fair price for installation only would be in the region of £250.00.
There are PVCu manufacurers that will sell a nice composite door, double glazed with 9 locking points at around £600.00 and upwards, however, you can definitively find a better price for a standard PVCu door."

"Trade companies in general can get lower costing materials than the general public, although some tradesmen do mark the price up of materials purchased to cover costs of arranging and even transporting items to location"

"Dear sir madam
It is less expensive to have the door frame repair then refit the existing door .
As a complete job you have the extra cost of new door .
This only true if the existing door is not damaged.

Cheers"

"I find it will almost be different every time,
The will depend on the type of the door wanted and frame also the cost of the fitter and what discount if any they can get from their suppliers and the work they will have to do on the job."
