Dimmer switches in bathrooms

"You can have dimmable lights in bathrooms just as you can normal lights, but subject to the same regulations. Dimmer switches need to be a certain distance from the bath/shower/basin and light fittings need to be appropriately resistant to water ingress, depending on where they are fitted. But there is no specific requirement for dimmer switches in bathrooms. You can get dimming pull-cords as well as switches. One thing though -if your extractor fan is connected to the lighting circuit, you need to ensure that it will run using a dimmer switch - most of them do."
