Design features to make a kitchen less boxy

We have a very square space for our kitchen. We think fitting units around 3 walls again will make it look too boring and boxy. What sort of kitchen design features would you suggest to make it more interesting?

"I suggest units on 2 walls and a island/ centre unit / worktop with drawers and cupboard space underneath gives the kitchen a open plan look."

"If the the space is big enough then maybe put an island in it? If not then rather than having the cabinets go around all 3 walls have the end one finish before hand and have a breakfast bar area but still have the units underneath.."

"Corner units with a 200mm radius door and a corian or stone worktop. If there are any open ends to the u shape you could return the worktop to the Floor even add a curve there if using Corian for a top
Hope this helps"

"You could still use 3 sides of your kitchen and perhaps put reduced in depth units on one side, if there isn’t any appliances in that run."

"If you still want to utilise the 3 walls you can play around with the kind of the cabinets. It could be full length cabinets with some shelves or wine racks or just a dining table along the wall with some mobile units under it. The other two walls could be done with the usual units."
