"Morning, this depends on what type of wall ? Is it load bearing, on a gradient to a neighbour ? Will affect your price in the project , & materials. Regards Paul"

"Hi, £1.500 each survey. Depends from the neighbours because they like to be every single person each survey!
But in most cases it’s enough just one! Thank you"

"Hi, its a written agreement between two occupiers of both side properties, who could be affected by building works,
The cost to survey for a party wall agreement typically ranges from £900 to over £5,400, depending on the project's complexity and the number of surveyors. A straightforward project with one surveyor might cost around £900 to £1,200 for a loft conversion and extension, while a more complex basement project could cost higher if both neighbours appoint separate surveyors. Costs are generally borne by the person undertaking the work, but if a dispute arises, the fees can increase."

"Hi,

Typically, party wall matters that reach award status for straightforward works such as extensions or loft conversions cost between around eight hundred and fifteen hundred pounds plus VAT.
If you or your neighbour require a schedule of condition, this can add a further six hundred pounds or more.

Party wall costs can also increase depending on the number of storeys and the type of work involved. For example, a three-storey house with a basement conversion carries greater risk, and the costs will normally rise accordingly.

The best approach is always to speak with your neighbour early on. Explain the proposed works clearly, involve your contractor to outline any risks, and if those risks are minimal, exchange written letters of consent between both parties. Take photographic records of each side of the property, monitor progress, and if any issues arise, address them immediately to avoid disputes that could escalate into costly legal matters.

I’ve been involved in party wall agreements for over thirty years, and with good communication and goodwill, they don’t have to be difficult. Good practice is to see the situation from the other person’s perspective — friends are always easier to deal with than enemies.

I hope this helps."
