How many bags of cement to a ton of sand?

I need to mix mortar for some brickwork. What the right ratio of cement bags to a tonne of sand? I want to get the order right before I start

For standard brickwork, allow about 8 bags of cement to every tonne of building sand for a normal 5:1 mortar mix.
