How many bags of cement to a ton of sand?

I need to mix mortar for some brickwork. What the right ratio of cement bags to a tonne of sand? I want to get the order right before I start

"Typically the ratio is 4 parts sand to 1 part cement. For 1 tonne (1000 kg) you need 8-10 bags of cement"
