Sometimes the water from my tap is very cloudy. Is this something I should be worried about?

"Do you have a Combination boiler if so I presume nothing wrong just the oxidation whilst running the tap . It should clear up fast .
If it's cold water then do the same test if it stays cloudy then get a test on the water by ringing Fernox"

"Cloudy as in white depends what area you live in could be calcium (chalk) sometimes this happens on the south coast if it bothers you fit a filter if it does not clear after being stood for a while contact water provider

Dirty brown water you have an ingress of soil contamination this is a serious problem contact your water supplier immediately boil water before use or use bottled water until the problem is resolved

"Fill a glass and let it sit for a few minutes. If it goes clear and there is no sediment then what you are seeing is tiny bubbles in the water coming out of the tap."

"Could be if the tap is t used often. You can always put a filter under your sink so will be good clean drinking water"

"If the water from most or all of your fixtures is cloudy, it's likely caused by air. This could be from near by mains water works etc.

If cloudiness is only occurring at one tap take off the aerator, clean it with a 50-50 water/vinegar solution then rinse it thoroughly and reinstall it."

"If you find that you’re only experiencing cloudy water from one of your taps, remove the aerator, clean it then and refit"

"Hi Michael. More often than not this is air. Try leaving a glass of water for a while to settle and see if it clears. It normally happens following some sort of repair to the water mains by your local water supplier. If the issue persists I would contact your water supplier and let them know."

"Not something you should worry about, but i wouldnt recommend drinking from the tap. Its ok for boiling.
My suggestion would be to contact united utilities.. they will send someone out to test supply."
