Ask your QuestionI am replacing my roof and want to use grey tiles instead of the brownish ones I currently have (semi detached property), can I do this?

"Yes as long as the tiles you use are of similar size and style you can use them without the need for changing the batten or felt providing they are in good order."
Answered on 2nd Feb 2021 - Member since Feb 2020 - report"I do not see why not you cannot do this for. If you will be replacing the whole roof then you can use different size tiles anyway and if you were to replace one or two tiles here and there then the tiles could be cut to size as well."

Tile bonders will have to be used between your tiles and next door.

Answered on 2nd Feb 2021 - Member since Feb 2020 - report"As it’s semi detached your only worry should be that the battens are solid and that the tradesmen make sure the tiles either interlock with next door or they make the roof watertight between the two properties colour shouldn’t be an issue"
