What is a tree preservation order? What is a tree preservation order? What is a tree preservation order?
I've got an old oak tree that's dying. It has a preservation order on it. Will a tree surgeon be able to work with me to stabilise it for as long as possible and guide me on replacing it when the time comes? The tree is on open land, so it's no real danger to people. I just want to make sure I'm fulfilling my responsibility. Is there anything I need to do before it's worked on?
I have two medium sized rowan trees that have died from fire blight. I can cut them down myself and use the logs for my wood burning stove. But is it OK to do this or should the wood be disposed of some other way?
Is the council notified/must the council be notified prior to a tree surgeon working on a tree on a busy road?
We have a relative with tall, overgrown beech hedging which needs significant work to cut it back and maintain it. It's too high for us to tackle. We've been told to ask a tree surgeon to do it. How much should we expect to pay for initial work and for ongoing maintenance as we'll need to work it into our budget? I'd say the hedge runs for at least 30 metres.
Is it legal to have hedges trimmed in the UK? Does it depend on the location amid other factors?
Should I worry if a tree creaks a lot in windy weather?
How can I tell whether a tree on my property is protected or not?
Do tree surgeon companies deal with all work themselves or are the homeowners needed for anything?
