Neighbours tree blocking light

A large tree in next door's garden has grown so much it now blocks most of the light into our back garden and kitchen window. What are our options?

Legally you can cut any branches back to your fence line. Nothing can be done about it blocking light. Technically no one has a legal right to views or light. Best way is to talk to your neighbor and explain the problem.

You can ask the neighbour if they would be willing to have it reduced but at your cost

Hello, you are entitled to prune any over hanging branches that encroach your property.
Tree owners do have a duty of care to ensure that their trees do not affect neighbours.
Pollarding/ pruning the tree to reduce the size and let in light would be the best option, a discussion with the neighbour should be the first port of call.
