Gas safe installed new gas boiler and heating. Then another plumber installed downstairs loo. Now when I flush the toilet the boiler loses pressure to zero and has to be filled every day. Even if I do not flush toilet pressure drops and I refill everyday. The plumber did connect to two pipes near boiler. Whats wrong and what can be done?
Is it possible to have a boiler installed in a bathroom? Might this depend on a range of different factors? Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Been completely let down by a wood burner installer. We had a woodburner installed around a month ago. The company that installed it told us that they could self-certify. The problem is that I can't get in touch with them and im beginning to be concerned that i shouldnt use the burner. Am i going to have to get someone else to come and certify it? Can i do that? I feel like i've been robbed. Is there anyone i can contact about this? Thanks.
Can heating engineers offer independent advice on new boilers? Or are they tied to certain boiler brands? Many in our area seem to have brand logos on their vans and websites.
Hi there, I’m just wondering where I’d find a serial number on my boiler exactly?
What there any special requirements for having a boiler installed in a bathroom?
Victorian end-terrace with a suspended wooden floor, no crawl space. We have a gas leak that the engineer believes to be in the old steel pipe that runs under the floor from the gas meter in our cupboard to the kitchen. We're getting the kitchen redone at the moment, so the gas needs to be reconnected to our new gas hob. The engineer's best suggestion to minimise cost, disruption and the dining room décor is to send a new 22mm copper pipe up through the ceiling above the gas meter, run this along the skirting in the landing and then back down through the kitchen ceiling, where it can be connected up. I'd be really grateful for any views on this approach. Does it make sense and/or sound like the best way forward? What options might there be for re-running it under the floor? Would this all need taking up? And then can copper pipe be laid directly below or does it need ducting and/or screed? I want to know what's preferrable versus what's possible (practically and legally!)
Some radiators in my house are only part heating up. The raidiators are only a few years old and we had a new boiler installed 3 months ago. The boiler installer said they balanced the system but could this be the cause? The raidiator in the bedroom furtherest from the boiler upstairs only gets hot the left side, the room next to it has 3 or 4 columns that don't heat and the tall radiator that is in the living room, furtherest from the boiler only gets luke warm. All raidiators have been bled and have no air and the pins in the TRVs are loose.
Hi. I’m hoping to have underfloor heating installed at some point. I just wanted to learn a bit more about them first. For instance, is it possible for a UFH pipe to leak beneath my floor and what precautions could I take to a) reduce this risk and b) be able to detect/know that this is the case, should there be an underfloor leakage? Thanks for your time.
How much would it cost to have a valor gas fire removed and disposed of?
