Laws on tradespeople working inside a home
If a tradesperson comes to work in my home, does that mean that no one else from another household can be present in the home at the same time? So my daughter likes to invite a friend or two to the house on different days of the week. If someone comes to my home to work on anything (as there’s a few things that need fixing around the house), must her friends not visit during these hours? Or how does the law apply in these cases? Any help would be really appreciated as I’ve no idea how the law might apply in these sorts of scenarios. Thanks!

I am aware that contractors charge more in London. As someone based in the capital, couldn't I hire someone from outside of London, pay their travel costs and save money overall? Or are contractors required to work within their own region?

Installing clothes rack from angled ceiling
I want to install a new clothing rack in a bedroom which will hang from the slanted roof side of the room. At the lowest point is about 1 metre from the floor and about 2 metres at the highest point, the angle is roughly 45 degrees too – so it seems an ideal size for a rack. I am planning on having joins that hold the rail every half metre or so, to distribute the weight - the length of the rail will be around 2 metres long. Are there any reinforcements for the weight or other adjustments I might need to install the clothing rail on my slanted roof?
How can I improve the look of my staircase?
Hi. I’m thinking of improving the look of my home’s staircase but I’m not quite sure how to go about it. See, I’ve considered, for example, adding wallpaper to the front-facing parts of the steps. What sort of wallpaper patterns/colours would work here and is there anything in particular to consider when applying wallpaper to stair risers? As in, is the process any different than adding wallpaper to a wall (except for cutting it out so that it will fit on the stair risers of course). Hope all this makes sense. How could I replace/mend/clean leaking guttering at the rear of my terraced house, with not back access and with a conservatory covering the whole width of the house?! Is this a big job?
