How much roughly would it cost to build a wardrobe in a bedroom about 4 foot across by 8ft height
When it comes to renting, if I as a tenant would like to make some non-essential changes to my apartment (e.g. replace the shower), is it up to me to pay for the cost entirely? If a landlord approves of a shower upgrade, is he/she liable to help out with the payment to any extent or is it entirely up to me to cover the cost?
Hi, I've had a damp survey done on a house I'm in the process of buying and it has recommended that the ground is lowered at the back of the house to prevent water splashing from the patio tiles onto the walls (and hopefully exposing the air bricks so that the sub floor is ventilated). I think the job would involve slicing off some of the patio tiles, digging down to the appropriate depth, laying down a membrane and then filling in with gravel. I'm not sure which is the most appropriate trade to do this - would it be something a general handyman could do?
What handyman scams should I be wary of? I’m in my eighties and I’m aware that scammers often target older people.
We want to install an indoor climbing wall to our child's bedroom. What kind of tradesperson would we need? Is it simply a handyman? Or do we need a specialist? We want to ensure the wall can hold enough weight to last until teens (if they still want it then). Any advice would be appreciated.
I need some decking cleaning and then stained again in farnborough. Can send photos if interested. How much would this cost?
After removing an old plastic pipe from the wall we now have a hole that's 6 or 7cm wide in the brickwork. What's best to fill this with?
How do I know that a roof can manage the weight of solar panels? Is there a way I can do this DIY or should I hire a professional?
The fridge recently started have the metallic smell inside the fridge, but not inside the freezer. Both the fridge and freezer are still cooling/working as normal. There is no sign of any refrigerant leakage. Any spoiled food and lack of cleaning can be ruled out as the possible cause. The appliance is 8 years old. My questions are: (a) What are the likely causes? (b) Is it easily repairable? (c) Would I be better off to just replace the appliance instead of attempting to repair it?
How can I find out if I am eligible for the Green Homes Grant? Does it depend on where you live? What work is covered by this grant scheme? How much could I receive?
