Is it ok for handyman to change covers on light switches?
Is it OK to get a handyman rather than an electrician in to change the cover plates on my light switches? All my electrics are up to date but I want nicer looking switches.
Best New front door advice
Hi I'm looking for some advice on the best front door to buy. It needs to be robust and hardwearing on the outer side. What brands should I be looking out for? Is it worth buying the door separately and hiring an installer or should I get 1 company to do it all? The old door is composite, is this the stongest and most hardwearing option or should i go with something else? Thanks in advance.

Potentially looking at wanting to knock through 2 walls in the downstairs area to create an open plan. Along with sealing off 1 door. Before I really get into the detail I want to get a ball pack figure for how much this could potentially cost? Not sure what the right trade is?

Is it usual for a handyman not to quote for small jobs? I've spoken to one who said it's not worth producing a quote and the cost won't change. Should I trust him?
Laws on tradespeople working inside a home
If a tradesperson comes to work in my home, does that mean that no one else from another household can be present in the home at the same time? So my daughter likes to invite a friend or two to the house on different days of the week. If someone comes to my home to work on anything (as there’s a few things that need fixing around the house), must her friends not visit during these hours? Or how does the law apply in these cases? Any help would be really appreciated as I’ve no idea how the law might apply in these sorts of scenarios. Thanks!
