  • Laws on tradespeople working inside a home

If a tradesperson comes to work in my home, does that mean that no one else from another household can be present in the home at the same time? So my daughter likes to invite a friend or two to the house on different days of the week. If someone comes to my home to work on anything (as there’s a few things that need fixing around the house), must her friends not visit during these hours? Or how does the law apply in these cases? Any help would be really appreciated as I’ve no idea how the law might apply in these sorts of scenarios. Thanks!

advice on hiring contractors living out of London and paying for travel

I am aware that contractors charge more in London. As someone based in the capital, couldn't I hire someone from outside of London, pay their travel costs and save money overall? Or are contractors required to work within their own region?

Do you have any ideas to get my mind brainstorming for a garden sign post? Do I need to use timber or could other materials work and pull off the ‘garden sign post look?’ Thanks.

Installing clothes rack from angled ceiling

I want to install a new clothing rack in a bedroom which will hang from the slanted roof side of the room. At the lowest point is about 1 metre from the floor and about 2 metres at the highest point, the angle is roughly 45 degrees too – so it seems an ideal size for a rack. I am planning on having joins that hold the rail every half metre or so, to distribute the weight - the length of the rail will be around 2 metres long. Are there any reinforcements for the weight or other adjustments I might need to install the clothing rail on my slanted roof?

    Setting time on induction hob

My induction hob is set to several different time zones at once. I just want one time to appear and that being the local time. How can I achieve this? What do I need to do? Does it depend on the brand/product in question or is it more or less the same for each hob? Thanks!
