Is it ok for handyman to change covers on light switches?

Is it OK to get a handyman rather than an electrician in to change the cover plates on my light switches? All my electrics are up to date but I want nicer looking switches.

"Hello,
Yea that’s absolutely fine, sockets and light switches come into the realm of DIY and can be changed without the need for a qualified electrician, providing obviously that the person is confident in doing the work and the relevant safety precautions are taken….. I regularly change sockets, switches and light fitting for customers during the course of any work they may be ha I g done. A Minor works certificate can be requested for peace of mind to say the work has been completed to a safe standard, but isn’t a legal requirement."

"Yes it is OK if switch plate changing job carried by handyman, or yourself or any other trade. It would become as DIY job. It is ok if trade person knows at least basics termination and earthing standards followed by BS 7671-2022 Regs."

"Yes, a handyman can change the fascia of light switches, but be sure they isolate the electrics before touching anything 👍🏼"

"If its just changing the facias then yes any knowledgeable handyman is more that capable of doing this type of work, just make sure that they disconnect the electrics before they start the works."
