How feasible is it to find companies that would offer to do work on finance? And would it be possible with bad credit or is this a guaranteed rejection even where buy now, pay later plans apply?
In your opinion, when covid is over (hopefully sometime next year), how might this affect contractor prices? Will there be a sudden surge in builder charges as more work is available and they try to make up for a bad financial year? Am I better off taking precautions and having work done before the pandemic is over? Any thoughts on this? I want to have an extension built so it’s going to be a costly project and this thought popped into my head. Thought I’d try and get in touch with a professional.
I want to buy materials for a stud wall. Where can I get these? Would I get everything I need say in somewhere like b and q? Thanks.
We have a leak in our ground floor extension roof. It started with the paint cracking when it rained hard, but now it's got much worse and water is slowly dripping through the cracks that are growing. It's a flat roof and i can't see where it could be coming through. My question may be a silly one, but would i need a roofer or a specialist builder of some sort for this kind of work? We need to work out where the leak is coming from first, and then fix it!
Which is better, a metal or timber stud wall and why?
Hi, I’m moving to a new flat and have bought a tv shelf unit with cupboard storage either side which can be wall mounted. There won’t be a lot of weight inside the cupboards but the unit itself is very heavy ( about 30kg) and the tv is a 55inch ( so I’m guessing about 10-15kg). Is this too much weight to mount on a stud wall?
A friend told me about permitted development rights. if I want to have an extension added to the front of my house, will I need to have planning permission for this?
I want to construct a corner stud wall. What does this involve? Can I actually do it myself? How about planning permission, building regulations, etc.?
