Landscaper or Gardner Consultations

Can I get an initial consultation with a gardener or landscaper before going having a landscape garden drawn up and eventually constructed? Does this usually involve a fee and if so, how much would it be on average?

"No fee should be charged for a quote or any advice given there should be a no obligation quote put in place."

"If I was quoting for the work I wouldn't charge but if you personally wanted the drawings, plans, and how much it will cost I'd charge otherwise I'd be doing a free day of work for someone"

"Yes, you can get an initial consultation even if you have your own plans. This should not involve a fee and I think you will find most gardeners/ landscapers don't charge a fee. I certainly don't charge a fee. Chris"

"Some companies may charge you for this depending on location, however, it is not something I would charge or indeed pay for myself"

"Hi

We as a company offer free no-obligation quotes, as some people like a guideline so they can then save for the project to be done in the future.

I do believe some companies charge a fee."

"you shouldnt be expected to pay a fee for consultation, the tradesman is making a sales pitch on what you want in your garden/home and hoping for the work"

"A professional garden designer is normally between 10-15% of the budget. This includes consultations, design, professional drawings and implementation."
