"A lot of lead pipes have now been replaced with plastic. Lead is harmful to humans and in particular pregnant women and young children and boiling the water makes no difference. If you are worried your water supplier should be able to check the lead levels in your pipe work and advise accordingly"

"if you have lead pipework supplying your house ,or lead pipes on the main in your house, if possible have them removed, as they get older there is a chance lead will be absorbed into the water (plumbo solvency ) boiling will not remove the lead."
