No water coming out of hot tap

Turned it on earlier and nothing came out at all. Cold water’s fine. What's going on?

Hi Jenny,

I would assume the most likely and fixable problem would be an airlock. Possibly a faulty tap, or an issue somewhere in the system. Contact a plumber and they should be able to identify the problem.

Hi Jenny, it could be a few different things causing the issue —  But if you’ve got cold water coming out of the taps and no hot, the most likely cause is an airlock, especially if your system is gravity-fed.

Hello 

It's could various reason depending on the heating system you got.

If it's gravity system then 
You can pull the water via suction system via vacuum cleaner.it will suck the air from the system. Best places from bath tub or kitchen tap.

If it's combie boiler 

Then it could be faulty tap or check isolation valve if any installed..

From boiler check cold water supply.

Could be a airlock. tank could have ran dry. ball valve could be stuck. call a plumber

Sounds like a blockage somewhere. Have you tried all hot taps to find a common part of the hot water system. All taps or just the one tap and proceed from there.

Hi Janny. It sounds like trapped air in the pipework (vented hot water system). Just need to carefully suck through your hot water tap with a WET vacuum cleaner.

This is probably an air lock. Can be fixed by holding your hand on the spout of the tap and pushing cold up through the hot
