I think the bath is leaking through ceiling

Just noticed water marks downstairs under the bathroom. Pretty sure it’s coming from the bath. How serious is this and who do I call first?

"Hi there. This could be varios things.
Silicone joint , p trap leaking under bath. Also a tap fixing. Or shower joint.
It's gravity. If its leaking it will come down.
Take the bath panel off and look for a wet patch .
Thanks Jim"

"Hi,

This could be anywhere from a number of places/reasons why... Everything from the seal/trim around the top to the waste underneath. I would suggest contacting your local plumber to investigate further and fix.

Leaks tend to get worse!"

"Hi,

I would call a plumber to check the waste pipe and the silicone round your bath/shower.

Does it only leak when the bathroom is in use?"

"If its only leaking sometimes, most likely the waste. Call a plumber to help"

"Good morning, have you managed to get the issue resolved? I can arrange for an operative to attend to investigate/rectify the leak. Kind regards, Nicola"

"it can be serious. It all depends if it’s leaking from the waist or if there is a water pipe leaking best call the plumber to surveyor the problem first as the problems could occur that the ceiling may come down after a long period of time they solve it before it gets worse."

"First need to be investigated from where is leak. Sometimes is from trap or tap connector, sometime silicone need to be changed."

"Hi Christian.
You can try to identify the source of the leak by observing when the mark on the ceiling appears:

If the mark is visible all the time, it’s likely related to the water pipework.

If it appears when you’re filling the bath, the issue could be with the bath filler.

If it shows up while the bath is draining, it may be related to the waste pipe.

It could also simply be from water that was spilled.

Careful observation can help narrow down the cause before any further investigation or repairs."
