How could I best blend different materials for a neat garden design?

Hi you could do this by using any edges ro straighten it off or you could go abit mad with it and have it porcelain tiled and and in a funky shape

When mixing design styles, be sure to make the space either predominantly modern or traditional, with accent pieces of the other. Allowing one design to dominate will keep the overall look cohesive, and prevent it from feeling like everything is fighting for attention.

You can blend different materials like stone, wood, bark together to give the ground a more natural rustic look, otherwise it depends on what type of plants you have due to colour etc. A good example would be Golden Flint goes well around Conifer and other green plants, plum slate stands out around low white flowering plants and also around Heather. Think about colour clashes, you wouldn't put Golden Flint or Cotswold stone around wooden decking as they are so similar in colour they would not compliment each other. Have a walk around a few garden centers where you will be able to see different plants and surroundings.
