"In the summer end of march is the best time because due to good weather you won't have any delays."

"Summer is the most popular tie of year to build an extension just because of how practical it is when it comes to having work done. There will be no cold spells in the house from walls or roofing being altered, and that's the most important thing for most people who are on the fence about the build"

"Season is coming spril to summer. Mainly due to weather. you want to get ground works started in spring."

"I wouldn’t suggest to start it until April. Upcoming weather should be considered, avoid raining days until foundation is casted at least. From my own experience, once I had a job when we dug out foundation trench and there was rain pipe going across the trench, so we had to apply to ThamesWater and waited a week until we got instructed what to do. Whilst we waited, heavy rain happened and trench sides started to collapse so it caused additional stress and time to sort everything out."

"Spring start after the frosts have finished to prevent damage to mortar/concrete."

"From a builders point of view, any time.
Depends if you're moving out or living in.
How much internal reconfiguration is planned will also a factor.
The weather shouldn't really mater.
I build extensions all year round and in any weather conditions.
But in an ideal world 'ummer/autumn'
Hope this helps.
Regards
Jason"

"The best time if it was my choice would be 1st April. Clocks go forward.bad weather gone.longer nights to catch up if things go wrong"

"Best time of year to start a extension is March time once the foundation and drainage is in the ground recover quickly as the drier weather is on its way it stops the potential of the inside of the building getting too damp with the elements and all other trades after the roof goes on can carry on working without to much disruption"

"April is probably your best bet due to the weather, but if you start in April you should be fine for first fix and second fix."
