Which shrubs are best for an amateur gardener to grow? Are there any that don't need pruning etc?

"In short the best shrubs are ones that grow easily in your area, a quick tip is look around see what grows well in neighbouring gardens but yes they will need pruning unless very slow growing. It’s not difficult to prune, many plants are just trimmed like you would a hedge."
