Are clay roof tiles durable?

Are clay roof tiles durable? What are some similar alternatives in appearance that I could also consider?

Clay roof tiles are the most durable from my experience with some lasting many years but they can be very expensive there is concrete alternatives such as Marley Mendip that still have a  curve to them such as clay tiles so it depends on budget really clay is better but more expensive and tends to be a nightmare if it were to ever leak and concrete is a cheaper easier to fix alternative

Yes they are durable but concrete tiles will last a bit longer but clay look better

Not as durable as slate, but still durable. Slate lasts much longer and is a better option though is more expensive

Yes, they usually last much longer than concrete, although on a boarded / feather edge roof the backs become flakey

Clay tiles are very durable but concrete tiles are normally less expensive and much more readily available to buy.

Clean roof tiles are very good they are much better than the old tiles has diesel stuck on with glue with ridges everything

Are you referring to old traditional clay tiles or modern new clay tiles?

Traditional clay tiles like double roman or clay rely on an excellent membrane being present and quite troublesome when strong winds are present, with water finding their way In. 

You also need to take into account the roof pitch, a good degree is needed for installation on traditional clay tiles.
