30 year old double glazed windows

Whilst the Anglian windows are still perfect the rubber seals are leaving black rubber residue on cleaning cloths and the black rubber coming off stains the external white finishes. A specialist says that the strip seals cannot be replaced due to their specialised profiling. Is there a clear silicone (or whatever) product that I can paint over the black sealing strips to reseal them?

"Unfortunately there is nothing you can do and do not use silicon on the gasket
if you get black marks on the window when cleaning the glass or the window frame you can use a. Cleaning product called solvent only for white upvc windows"

"Yes you can. You need to check the profile of the gasket and looking for same or similar on the internet or by a window factory. Not necessary to be same just watch the leg on the gasket. Sorry for my english!"

"Hi, it may be possible to cut existing black gasket out and replace with a black silicone seal very carefully."

"Hi there, If your windows are aluminium you can swap the gasket but if uPVC I would suggest a PVC cleaner for your white frames (white only). This will take away any black stains from the rubber seals. I would not suggest painting anything. I hope this helps. Thanks Chris"

"There is 'forever clear' silicones you can use. But if your gaskets are starting to perish, it might be time for an upgrade."
