Want a new oven installed. Old one was 13amp connected via plug. Have 6mm cable attached to 40amp on circuit breaker already supplying induction hob. New oven is 2.6kW 16amp. From what I've looked at i think I do not need new wire from circuit board. Is this correct?
how much to fit earth to gas and water its about 13 metres away dunking is fine then behind kitchen units both gas and water input are next to each other. probably have to drill through a wall
What would be the most cost effective option for a driveway, needs to be firm and low maintenance as will have 4 cars on, thanks in advance.
A self employed fitter doing roller garage doors. Does he need any electrical qualifications. Ie controller 240v going to a 13amp plug 2 way motor. 24v light guards. Also 240v motor cable 4 core goes through side plate. No grommets fitted whole door is aluminium slats. Thanks
My youngest son is neurodivergent and is very sensitive to loud noises. Do you know of any good products that he could use to silence the noise, perhaps good noise-cancelling headphones? Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Hi, I was wondering about the logistics of opening up a bricked up fireplace. This will purely be decorative so the chimney won't need to be opened, just the fireplace itself so that an antique surround can be inserted. - I was wondering if this is likely to need any sort of planning approval? - How long it would usually take to open up a fireplace? - Rough ballpark of how much it should cost? Many thanks
What type of cladding best suits a semi-detached house, peddledash, lime or polymer? How do these options compare and what are their pros & cons? Which do you think I should choose and why? Thank you!
My newly installed Indian sandstone patio has multiple issues. Several slabs lift off easily, the joints are uneven, and the landscaper placed broken concrete pieces on the MOT1 base without compacting them before adding the semi‑dry mix. He cut the end‑slots off the channel drains, left gaps between sections, and installed loose end caps. Water leaks and flows towards the neighbour’s garden rather than the gully. A small 3×3cm opening was cut into the drain, but the gully grate remains in place, preventing access for clearing blockages. The landscaper claimed the drains would “move” if slotted together. The drain grilles sit 1–2cm below the DPC. I need guidance on whether this meets acceptable standards.
can I use the same paint on a bathroom and kitchen ceiling?
I have a semi detached house with a flat roof. We would like to convert our roof to a pitched roof with a room but our neighbours (also flat roof) aren’t in a position to do their roof. Can we turn our side into a pitched roof and their side left flat?
