I have bought new kitchen units for my kitchen renovation, but I am finding it very difficult to keep the wall units fastened to the walls properly. I follow the instructions from the pack, to drill and use fixing plugs – but whatever I do they do not seem to get any purchase on the walls. All I seem to achieve is more brick dust on my worktops. Has anyone any advice for this? Could it be the walls and not the units that are the problem? As far as I know, I am drilling for the units correctly, but they definitely haven’t got enough purchase to keep them up there. Any advice would be appreciated!

In our groundfloor back bedroon we have a concrete floor with bitumen top, laid on 1978. A damp patch has appeared in the middle of the carpet. There is no staining on the ceiling above so it seems to be coming from below. Is this possible? The bitumen seems sound, but has white blobs of mould on it.
I have an old chimney and it hasn’t been used in I’d say about fifteen years now. I suddenly thought that for this winter, I’d like to have a chimney fire again for warmth. Is there any reason I should be concerned in using a chimney after so long? Is there a risk that dangerous substances have built up and will fill the air if I used a chimney after so many years? It’s just been on my mind and there’s still a while to go until the cold winter months, so I figured it would be good to find out first!
Can someone please help. What is conveyance deed? Thanks.
