Agreeing price and timescale with handyman

Is it always necessary to agree a price and timescale before a handyman starts work? And should you get this in writing? I'm just wondering if this is standard practice or would I be considered a pain?

Swapping electric shower to mixer shower

Hi guys, I just moved into a new place and the en-suite electric shower is damaged and not working. it will be safely disconnected from the fuse board to avoid any surprises. I would like to install mixer shower to get more powerful shower experience compared to slow water flow from electric showers. I have a basin with hot and cold supply 2 meters away from the water inlet for the electric shower. Central heating is by combi boiler. As the cold water supply is already available by the electric shower point, would it be ok to pick up the hot water supply from the basin hot water supply? or what electric shower would you recommend so the hot water water flow could be as close to mixer shower as possible? Thank you.

    Bathroom renovation tile tips

Hi there, I’m designing a bathroom renovation that I have in mind (it’s just the basics right now but I’m hoping to hire a professional to help with the design with a bit of essential input on my part). I’d like to know whether large tiles can help a small bathroom look larger? Also, just curious if the opposite is also true?

    House Alarm Niusance

Since a recent power cut, my not in use house alarm has gone crazy. The alarm kept making chirping noises and then went off making such a noise that I took the plug out at the circuit break in my fuse. But it’s still making noises from the back up battery I think. What do I need to do to make it stop?
