  • Accessing drainage pipe on leaking shower

Our shower is leaking through the ceiling. We've tried resealing it, but it still leaks so we think it might be the drainage pipes but I can't see how to access them without taking the tray out. Is this normal?

    Gas Bayonet fitting

I am having my gas cooker replaced with an electric one. Can I remove the bayonet myself and leave it uncapped, or is this an illegal action. Obviously, I'm not a gas safe registered individual.

    Neighbours replace shared roof

My neighbour has had her half of our semi detach house roof replaced. The builder has cut the tiles on the boundary rather than interlock them. Will this cause us roof problems in the future

    Alternatives to carpet

I'd like to replace the carpet in the living room (16 m2) of my ground floor flat (circa 1900) with a new flooring type; something that I can easily wipe clean. Unfortunately, the room clearly slopes down on one side. I am aware that I can have the floorboards raised and the joists packed and levelled but worry about the cost of that process. Other than carpet, do I have any other options? Would linoleum or cork be suitable?
