  • Which is better in a garden between block paving and pattern imprinted concrete?

I am looking to have a new path across a pebble area in my garden and currently I am considering block paving and pattern imprinted concrete. Does anyone have some advice or past experience with these over a longer period of time? Ideally, it should be a long-lasting solution to be kept for several years to come. I have heard that imprinted concrete can crack and split over time due to use and erosion – is this the case, and if so, are there any reasonable preventative measures I could take?

Is it possible to have half of my kitchen as an observatory?

Could I have my kitchen converted into a semi-home observatory with it focused on windows that can be opened from the ceiling through an extension with the rest of the room dedicated to regular kitchen facilities? Are there any practical or safety issues to take into account for such a proposal?

Do I need to retreat jet washed sandstone steps

I have stone steps up to my front door (it’s a Victorian terrace). They were jet washed over the summer. Since then I have noticed a leak in my cellar, underneath where the steps are. Do I need to “seal” the steps in any way to try and stop this. I think they are either limestone or sandstone - either way they look porous, with lots of little holes in them.
