  • Blown Plaster - 1930s Build Lime Plaster

Blown Plaster in 1930s built property, is gypsum plaster compatible with lime and cement mixed plastered walls, plaster seems to be blown on external walls on isolated areas on one part of each external wall only, is this due to moisture affecting gypsum plaster used at some point in specific areas only, as the grey lime plastered areas are fine?

    ceiling bungalow extension

Can we raise the ceiling so that it is pointed and put sky lights in a bungalow? The extension has a pointed roof already, so we wanted to raise the ceilings and add so sky lights but only in that section? Any idea if this can be done and a rough cost?

Can I install new electrical sockets in my home?

Due to renovations in my home, I will need some additional electrical sockets installed in a bedroom. Currently we have electrical sockets on the wall directly opposite where we want the new electrical sockets. The room itself is approximately 9ft squared. Is this sort of installation something I can do myself and if so, what considerations will I need to take into account? Could I install the new sockets and use a connection to the existing sockets for the power and will it be safe? I want to be very sure that everything will be safe. Any advice from electricians with experience of this type of scenario would be appreciated! Many Thanks John

Cost of getting custom sized gates built?

We already have a fence along the side of the house but it’s about 1.5 meters away from the house wall. None of the shops seem to have gates this wide. How much would it cost to get two custom built and installed?

    Baskets for decorating

Hey! I've read that I could station aesthetically pleasing baskets around my house for decorating. Do you have any recommendations as to what specific types of baskets I could use? And how can I ensure they will be safe? I guess keep them away from candles and electrics?
