My RCD keeps tripping and I can't find anything obvious that's doing it. Most of the appliances have been unplugged and I still can't figure it out. The entire system trips and not just a single fuse. Does anyone have any advice on how to find the fault?
How can I clean algae off my patio without a pressure washer?
Hello all I have metal gates at the end of my driveway and metal fences and railings around the perimeter of my garden. Is there any paints which can prevent the risks of rust and other wearing on metal like this?
I wonder if there is a way to tell what a wall can hold without just hanging something and hoping for the best. I’ve inherited a TV bracket to mount the TV on the wall but I’m a bit worried its going to be too heavy. How can I check?
Hello all I am in the process of kitchen renovations at the moment and will need a new gas hob to be installed. I had thought his would be a task only a Gas Safe registered engineer would be able to do legally, however the builder involved in my renovation work tells me that it is a simple change of disconnecting the old hob and reconnecting to the new, so it would be too minor to need a specialist and that he could do it himself. Is this the case, or am I having the wool pulled over my eyes? I’d like to hear from the horse’s mouth on this, from actual engineers.
Hello All, I want to have garage consumer unit but not sure where to start. Does any one have any advice as to what I should be looking for?

Could someone give me an indication as to how much a structural engineer would cost? I have an old bungalow and want to do some extensive restoration work.
with skirting and architrave removed, would you expect a plasterer to skim close to the floor on a full room plaster skim?
I have a fourteen-year-old Worcester boiler that is leaking a bit. This has been diagnosed as a fault with the heat exchanger. The boiler is still working. So, is it better to repair with a new heat exchanger or replace the boiler? Can someone give a rough estimate of the relative cost differential?
