How much to remove my old gas fire? I'm fitting an electric fire instead.
For a quick 20 minute job, how much is a handyman likely to charge?
Recently had my central heating system updated and the boiler keeps losing pressure. I've checked for leaks and there isnt any under the floors. What else should I be checking?
Hi, I recently cleared out under my stairs and found mould growing along the back wall. After clearing it off with mould spray and bleach, I found in the plaster peeling off in the corner. Using a moisture meter I found it to be very damp at least 1.2m high. Will this wall panel need replacing? I also checked moisture content along the skirting board and I think all of it in the cupboard will need replacing. mAlso, is this question better for a plasterer or a builder? Maybe I'm asking the wrong people!
A tradesman come to fix an RCD which was tripping. In less than 3 months a whole floor sockets stopped working. Should you get another electrician or the same person should check and fix?
My neighbour has had a new roof. Previously our tiles were tied together. They have said her roof is higher so have used ridge tiles to cover the gap. Is this allowed? All other houses in the road are tied together even with a new roof.
Is there a paint type primer or something I can paint older plaster to help hide minor imperfections (I’ll fill/sand and smooth as much as I can first) before painting a dark paint colour? I don’t want to use lining paper. Cheers 👍🏻
I've recently bought my first house & the electric shower has started to smell like burning. I've turned it off & won't be using it. I've never had an electric shower before, would it be a costly job to replace the electric shower with a mixer shower? If it matters the shower is at the opposite end to the bath taps. If I was to replace the electric shower, it's a Triton 3+ 9.5 watt. The new ones I've seen in my budget are 4.5 watt, would this have a, lot less pressure than my current one? I'm on a budget & have no idea about these things so which option would be cheaper to install & also cheaper to run long term? Thank you
My radiator is rusting from the inside and leaking a small bit, l use oil heating is it safe to keep using for now?
I have a fourteen-year-old Worcester boiler that is leaking a bit. This has been diagnosed as a fault with the heat exchanger. The boiler is still working. So, is it better to repair with a new heat exchanger or replace the boiler? Can someone give a rough estimate of the relative cost differential?
