Uv Film or paint for conservatory roof

Hi, im looking to have my polycarbonate roof covers in a uv film, or painted in special paint. I'm called so many companies and can't find one that will do this.... can anyone help?

"Hi Penny
I cannot see either working for any length of time as the poly will expand and shrink over 20mm from winter through summer opening up the paint or film. Some expensive thicker films may possibly survive this. Polycarbonate is designed to " breathe" so an etch coat paint may prevent this and so would the film.

If it is to get more shading in Summer, you are better off changing the polycarbonate to Opalite or tinted. More effective still, heat reflective glass if the roof rafters are suitable and the side frames can take the added weight.

Cheapest partial solution for heat is to string muslin cloth across internally during the summer. Paul"

"Sometimes known as solar reflective paint, anti-glare paint is a solvent based resin paint that can be applied directly to glass, polycarbonate or even plastic to reduce the sunlight that gets into your conservatory.

"I think it will be better to replace the roof with a new lightweight tiled roof. It looks like slates but it's actually all a pvc composite. This is a permanent solution as opposed to a paint or coating."

"Hi for what your going to pay for paint you should have a new roof off Polycarbonate installed for near enough the same price as you will have to renew the paint after a few year much cheaper option and longer lasting as I have a wide range off Polycarbonate roof panels to show you even half n half we're it is light on in side n dark on the out or vice versa .. or a glass roof can be installed or which ever roof you have in mind wouldn't be a problem to install.
