If I were to have an engineered hardwood floor installed in the kitchen and then a solid hardwood floor fitted in my living room, would it feel weird for us or even our guests, walking on one surface then another? Would it feel out of place to have these two types of flooring on the same level of my house?

I have now noticed a year later every wall and ceiling has cracks appearing . When you knock in these areas it feels hollow . What could have caused this ? Would this likely get worse over time ?
