Is it possible to plaster over an asbestos ceiling & top of wall to make it flat or would the asbestos ceiling need to be completely removed first?
How can I find out if I am living in a listed building? Should I contact my local council or is there another authority I need to get in touch with?
I have been paving my front garden. I had noticed a couple of slabs were sinking a little so I dug them up and relaid I have left a gap of 300mm to the house with about 4 inches of small chippings. The paving is running away at at least 1/60. Also not much rain water falls in that area due to the over hang of about 300mm of the roof What I noticed after finishing is that the slabs although 300mm away are about 30mm higher than the bottom of the dpc. There doesn't appear to have been problems when the two large slabs were sloping in and that's been fixed. Perhaps I am overthrowing it but I just wanted to check
i think i have a light fitting that has been chewed by a mouse so it's cut in two, can i use what i know them as chocolate box connectors ( Terminal Block Strip Connector) or should i solder it , is this ok for house hold wiring ????
Is it easy to plaster a ceiling DIY?
Is it possible to take a burglar or home security system with you when you move house?
Hi guys I could use abit of advice, I’m painting my bathroom door using johnstones non-drip gloss white paint, it was previously paint gloss white but it started to flake away real bad so wanting to paint it again. I’ve sanded it down and applied one coat of Johnstone’s any surface paint primer last night, I was just wondering if I need to use undercoat on it too or can I just use gloss paint now ? How many coats of primer should I do first ?
I can't afford to replace my kitchen units but 2 of my drawers have started to fall apart. The strip on the side of the drawers that go into the runners have fallen apart. Is there a more affordable way of repairing them?
We are looking to build a single storey extension on a bungalow but the soil manhole is where we want to extend, The run goes parallel with the bungalow and we are on the end, At present the run goes under a previous extension at the property. What are our options?
I have a small dormer extension on the roof of my terraced house and would like to extend it so it is flush with the front of the house. Might this be possible? And what would be the average cost?
