  • Drying out a bathroom wall around a sink

We have water on the walls around the tiling on the wall around our bathroom sink. We want to paint the walls with bathroom paint and preferably would have a little more tiling first, but am unsure as to how we can dry the wall out or if we would have to hire a number of tradespeople to do this job, so was looking for advice if at all possible.

Is building control needed for an unvented hot water shortage system?

Will I need building control approval to have an unvented hot water shortage system installed? In what cases would this apply and in what cases might it not? Thanks.

Is it cheaper to extend externally or reconfigure the internal structure?

We are extending to the side of our property. We have the option of either having a larger extension OR a smaller extension but reconfiguring a couple of load bearing walls in order to create the layout we need. Obviously we want to make sure we can afford this before we submit planning permission. Generally speaking, which is likely to be the cheaper option?

    Poor shower pressure

How can I increase the pressure in my 2nd floor shower as the tank is on the 1st floor. I was considering buying a pump but no idea where to install it. The 1st floor bathroom/shower has okay pressure but it's not what we're used to. The heating system isn't a combi boiler I don't think as it has a water tank, emersion switch and a boiler separate in the next closet. The heating system says 1.6-2 bar when off and on so not sure it's a pressure issue. The shower is tiled over and behind the wall so I maybe assume the pump goes in the attic space somewhere. Thanks in advance if anyone could shed some advice.

    Wallpaper shading issue

What to do about wallpaper shading? How can this be fixed? What products, tools or equipment should I use and what exactly is involved in fixing this issue? Will I just need to replace the wallpaper? How can I tell if the wallpaper should just be replaced? Why does shading occur with wallpaper and how can I fix it exactly? Thanks in advance.
