Worktop replacement

Please how much will it cost for a worktop replacement in S40? I have to change it because I am replacing freestanding cooker to an in-built

"The cost of a worktop replacement can vary depending on the size of the kitchen, the type of worktop being fitted and whether appliances such as cookers or hobs need disconnecting/reconnecting.

On average, homeowners can expect prices from around £250–£800+ for labour, excluding materials.

If you are changing from a freestanding cooker to an integrated appliance, you may also require electrical modifications or a qualified electrician to safely isolate and reconnect the supply."

"Assuming you have the worktop already would be looking at £200-£250 labour depending on the size, complexity of it."

"The answer to your question starts first with dimensions, how big is the space in MM to be redone? Next is what material would you like? As s40 can either be laminate, solid wood or solid surface/ quartz.
Bear in mind that the type of material you use will also change the difficulty of installing that particular medium , which in itself adds additional labour time for completion to a high standard .
I appreciate you are changing a free standing cooker to a built in, this may dictate what material choices you have, as well as additional heatproofing needing to be added into the quote.
But because of this its not possible to give you a ballpark idea of whst you should be paying ."

"Expect to pay around £200–£600 in the S40 area, depending on worktop material, length, and fitting costs."

"Around £100 for labour plus the worktop cost, however if its granite it could be more maybe £150-175. Worktops can range in price cheap MDF around £125 for 4 metres all the way to around £400 per 4 metres for granite but shop around you can get quality for alot less than the high street online."

"Switching from a freestanding cooker to an in-built setup (a built-in oven and an integrated hob) is a fantastic upgrade, but it completely changes the layout of your worktop. Since a freestanding cooker breaks the worktop run, converting to an in-built hob means you now need a continuous, uninterrupted piece of worktop with a specific hole cutout.
